Grayson Man Faces Drug Charges by LPSO

On the night of Tuesday, June 22, 2021, an LPSO deputy stopped a vehicle on LA Highway 125, just outside of Olla, after observing a traffic violation. The deputy spoke to the driver, along with a passenger identified as James Brandon Morrison, 35, of Grayson, who was in the back seat slumped over with a small child present. During the stop the driver asked the Deputy not to call in Morrison’s information due to him having a warrant, and informed of having a protective order against Morrison.

Consent was given to search the vehicle, and Morrison was placed in handcuffs for officer safety. During the search the Deputy located in the backseat area four small baggies containing suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.

When the suspected narcotics were discovered, Morrison fled on foot toward Substation Road. The pursuit ended on Nailor Drive with Morrison back in custody. Further search of the vehicle revealed a zip lock baggie containing suspected marijuana.

Morrison was transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail and booked on charges of possession of CDS II methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of CDS I marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in the presence of a Juvenile, simple escape, and violation of a Protective Order.
