On the night of Friday, July 23, 2021, an LPSO K9 Deputy was patrolling in the Whitehall community and observed a male walking on Dumpster Road.  The Deputy identified the male to be Alvin Giddings, 53, of Deville.  Giddings told the Deputy that he was looking for metal at the dumpsters, and had already placed a piece in the back of the pickup truck that was parked close by.

During the investigation, the K-9 Deputy utilized his partner “Drako” for a search of Giddings vehicle, yielding a positive alert. Giddings admitted to possessing marijuana, which was located during a search of the truck. Deputies also located a pill bottle inside the truck that contained suspected methamphetamine.
Giddings was arrested and transported to the LPSO Jail where he was booked on charges of possession of CDS I marijuana, possession of CDS II methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, expired MVI, improper equipment, and expired driver license.
