On the night of Monday, September 20, 2021, LPSO received a complaint of suspected marijuana emitting from a room at a motel located off of East Oak Street in Jena.

 

LPSO deputies, along with a Jena Police Department officers, arrived and observed the door of the room to be open with a male sitting in the doorway. The odor of marijuana could be detected. While walking to make contact with the male, he frantically stood up and tried to flee. The male was identified to be William Jones, 29, of Jena. Jones informed deputies that he possessed marijuana in his hat, and small baggie containing suspected marijuana was collected. Deputies spoke to the renter of the room Rachel Green, 36, of Thibodeaux, along with Cynthia Chamberlain, 48, of Thibodeaux, and two small children.

 

Consent was obtained to search the room. During the search of a safe over 400 Oxycodone 30 mg pills, a small baggie of suspected marijuana, and $800.00 cash was collected. LPSO arrested all three individuals, and transported them to the LPSO Jail. Green informed that she, along with Chamberlain, shared the safe.

 

Rachel Green was booked on charges of possession of CDS II Oxycodone with intent to distribute, possession of CDS I marijuana, and possession of CDS in the presence of a minor.

Cynthia Chamberlain was booked on possession of CDS II Oxycodone with intent to distribute, possession of CDS I marijuana, and possession of CDS in the presence of a minor.

William Jones was booked on charges of possession of CDS I marijuana and possession of CDS in presence of minor.
