LPSO is proud to have a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. This is a service that is offered to our citizens, free of charge. Currently, Louisiana child passenger safety misuse rates are above 90%. A correctly installed child safety seat can reduce the risk of death by 71% for infants, and by 54% for toddlers. It can reduce the need for hospitalization by 69%.

As a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, Deputy Thomenthian Williams is available to educate the community and provide this service to ensure that children's safety seats are securely installed. This is an invaluable service and any caretaker with child safety seats in their vehicle may have theirs checked. This service is by appointment only. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 318-992-2151.
