CVS DROP BOX PROGRAM

SAFE DRUG DISPOSAL

CVS Pharmacy and The Partnership at Drugfree.org have teamed up to make medication disposal units available to local law enforcement agencies across the country. Funding covers the cost of the medication disposal unit and its delivery to the police department. To date, CVS and The Partnership have donated over a 1,000 units nationwide!

When placed in a secure area as part of a law enforcement drug collection program, these units offer community members a safe way to dispose of unwanted and expired medications. Making safe and environmentally friendly drug disposal available to your community can reduce the likelihood of misuse/diversion, minimize the chance for accidental poisoning, and protect our streams and waterways from becoming contaminated.

If you’re a member of law enforcement and would like to launch this program in your local police department, please apply for your free medication disposal unit today! The application can be completed online at https://cvshealth.versaic.com/login. You must Create an Account with CVS Health and a brief letter of support from an elected official outside of law enforcement must be provided.

Any questions regarding the Medication Disposal for Safer Communities Program can be emailed to Safer_Communities@CVSCaremark.com.
